THE STORY:

K and Mira are stuck. They have been living in their van. with no money, job prospects, or way out. As a last ditch effort to escape their desolate life, they plan a bank heist in the small town of Worden, Kansas. But executing a bank heist amidst a crumbling relationship yields tougher than they thought. As Mira and K adjust to small town living, they realize they must confront the failings of their relationship or lose everything they’ve got left.

About the Team:

MEREDITH JOHNSTON

WRITER, ACTOR, DIRECTOR

Meredith Johnston is a graduate of the BFA acting program at the renowned Theatre School at DePaul University. She is also a graduate of the True Acting Meisner Institute, iO comedy training, and the second city conservatory. She has starred in a variety of midwestern indie films including Our Place, Christopher Darling, By Crook and Wherever You Go, There You Are. In 2018, she starred in the film Pet Names, which garnered top 10 of SXSW according to the Hollywood Reporter among other glowing reviews. 

CAROL BRANDT

PRODUCER, DIRECTOR, EDITOR

Carol Brandt wrote and directed her first feature, THINGS FOUND ON THE GROUND at the age of 20, during her third year at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The film had its world premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival in 2013. 

Her award-winning fourth feature, PET NAMES, premiered at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival, garnering critical acclaim and comparisons to Kelly Reichardt.

Suzanne Jurva

PRODUCER

Suzanne created the research department at DreamWorks SKG and was a feature film development executive supervising many Academy Award nominated and winning films. She is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and narrative feature producer with her films being part of over 50 film festivals around the world. 


TINY PANIC FILMS:

 

In 2015, Carol and Meredith met on the set of the film CHRISTOPHER DARLING.

Once wrapped, the two kept in touch, and Meredith sent Carol the script for PET NAMES. The rest is history.

Combining their sensibilities (Carol on details, logistics, and production; Meredith on humanity, emotion, and style) the two have made several projects together, including music videos for Meredith’s musical alter-ego, Warm Human.

PINK MOON has been their long-awaited third feature collaboration, and they couldn’t be more excited to make the story come to life.
